Steve Sloan

A prize winner in the 2006 Rosario Classical Guitar Competition, Steve has been heard in a variety of venues throughout Ohio. A featured soloist on the CD’s " Guitar at Akron 2003," and “Guitar at Akron 2005”, Sloan has given performances at Baldwin Wallace Conservatory, Oberlin Conservatory, Columbus (GA) State University, Ashland Arts Center, and many others. He has performed in master classes for such luminaries as Raphaella Smits (from Belgium), Stephen Robinson, and Benjamin Verdery. In addition to his activities as a soloist Sloan has accompanied singers, flutists, violinists, played in guitar duos, and as a member of the Akron Flamenco Guitar Ensemble. Mr. Sloan has 3 years experience teaching, both privately and at Westside Music Studios in Fairlawn, Ohio and The Christ Academy of Fine Arts in Medina, Ohio. He will receive his Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from the University of Akron’s School of Music in 2007.
